Sunday Lunch at The President Hotel
14 July 2026Sundays at The President Hotel are centred around the table, with generous plates, familiar flavours and time spent together overlooking Cape Town's Atlantic coastline.
Served every Sunday from 13:00 to 16:00, the hotel's Family-Style Harvest Lunch brings a selection of dishes to the table for guests to share. From harvest salads and grilled roosterkoek to dishes prepared around the fire, the menu draws on South African flavours and the tradition of gathering for Sunday lunch.
The afternoon begins with a selection of salads and freshly grilled roosterkoek, served with snoek pâté and kumquat and apple chutney. Chargrilled beetroot with feta and seeded dukkah sits alongside roasted honey butternut with almonds and cranberries, while a coriander cabbage and pineapple slaw adds something fresh to the table.
At the centre of the lunch is a generous spread of dishes inspired by cooking around the fire. Cape Malay mussels, oxtail braised potjie and shisanyama lamb chops with chakalaka jus are served alongside gamefish with coriander lime dressing and chicken marinated with apricot and pineapple.
Sides are passed around the table, from buttered corn on the cob with fresh herbs and Parmesan to sweet pumpkin fritters with cinnamon and honey. Crisp baby potatoes, wood-fired broccoli and cauliflower, and spiced basmati rice complete the spread.
Dessert follows with a selection of sweet treats made for sharing. Apricot and coffee cake, coffee and dark chocolate opera, milktart verrines and freshly sliced fruit bring Sunday lunch to a close.
Located in Bantry Bay, The President Hotel's Family-Style Harvest Lunch offers a relaxed way to spend Sunday with family and friends
